A swashbuckling hero from the Mutants & Masterminds "Instant Superheroes" sourcebook. The book was a collection of hero archetypes designed to speed up character creation.
The art direction for this piece just asked for a swashbuckler but I felt I needed a "hook" to base the design around so I made him The Knave of Hearts. |

Essentially not everyone can be a hero because some people need saving. And someone needs to be the guy to save the civilians from.
One thing in pictures like this is that a player should be able to look at it and go, "That's awesome! I'd love to play that character in my game!"
Good show, that man. And definitely great to see you go for something with real character rather than go the generic route.
Anyways, neat work. Really like how the coloring came out.
